<p>Yet another item for Canzine! These are all <em>hand-drawn</em> illustrations done in Copic and Prismacolor markers on watercolor/Stonehenge paper with a craft paper backing. Each hand-labled and signed, measuring at 2<span id="main" style="visibility: visible;"><span id="search" style="visibility: visible;">½</span></span> x 3<span id="main" style="visibility: visible;"><span id="search" style="visibility: visible;">¾</span></span> inches.</p>
<p>So far there are roughly 60 done, with many more to come. Although I&#8217;m selling the originals, I&#8217;ll be scanning them all and laying them out in a poster, so keep an eye out for that too. :)</p>
<p>I have yet to scan all the cards but for now, feast your eyes on these 30:</p>

</a></p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been preparing merchandise for upcoming Canzine 2009 and my online shop.  This is the first of many: 4&#215;5<span id="main" style="visibility: visible;"><span id="search" style="visibility: visible;">¼</span></span> inch cards. I&#8217;m typically not a fan of the ordinary gloss prints so I tried making these a little different; opting for printing on brown postal wrapping paper, which I love and use often in my projects. They&#8217;re all cut and put together by hand.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-1b.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-126" title="postcard-1b" src="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-1b-300x190.jpg" alt="postcard-1b" width="300" height="190" /></a></p>
<h2>Behind the Scenes</h2>
<p>I took my large roll of postal wrapping paper and cut it to standard A4 size (8.5x11in). After arranging the illustrations, I used an inkjet printer to print out the artwork. I used inkjet because it has a nice matte finish, unfortunately that makes these cards non-waterproof so don&#8217;t get them wet!</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127" title="postcard-2" src="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-2.jpg" alt="postcard-2" width="445" height="174" /></p>
<p>Similarly to my zine, I dotted the cheeks of any characters with a red micropen.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-128" title="postcard-3" src="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-3.jpg" alt="postcard-3" width="262" height="200" /></p>
<p>I then cut the print into quarters, trimming any access paper to even out the borders.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-129" title="postcard-4" src="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-4.jpg" alt="postcard-4" width="445" height="205" /></p>
<p>Postal wrap on its own is too flimsy to be a proper card, so I grabbed some thick paper stock, glued the backing and cut the paper to size.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-130" title="postcard-5" src="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-5.jpg" alt="postcard-5" width="445" height="167" /></p>
<p>I finished off with penning my website URL, signature and year at the bottom.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-124" title="postcard-6" src="http://www.jeanniephan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/postcard-6.jpg" alt="postcard-6" width="445" height="172" /></p>
<p>There are currently only 8 designs and only two copies of each. Right now I&#8217;m testing out the popularity of these prints to see if I should make more. If any of these appeal to you at all, drop a comment and let me know!</p>
